Legendary multiplayer shooters like CS and the likes have become a cradle for an entire generation of gamers. And now this tradition is continued by a new wave of games designed both for PC and mobile. One of them is Standoff and there is no better option for those who are looking to enjoy a short and intense team battle with clear goals and a lot of tactics. If that’s what you like in online games, welcome aboard!
Enjoy the action and shoot away!
The gameplay is represented in a pretty interesting manner. It basically retains the features of the ‘big’ shooters which is surely pleasant. There are three modes for virtual combats. The first one is classic – one team fights another in the regular death match we all are used to. Once you die, your character is immediately reborn. The second mode repeats another basic scenario with the installation of a bomb. One team is tasked with planting it while the other tries to thwart the opponents or deactivate the explosive. Finally, there is also some sort of a race of arms where your level increases after each kill and you gain access to ever more powerful weapons. Here much depends on how fast you act. The one who got to the knife and murdered a few rivals first generally becomes the winner. However, everything can change any minute if you forget about vigilance and relax, so keep your eyes peeled down to the last second!
It’s all about teamwork
So what do you need to succeed in this game? First of all, brilliant reflexes and firm hand. There are several types of weapons to use and depending on that you might need to adapt your shooting skills to different mechanics which certainly adds more diversity to the gameplay. But since Standoff is about team battles, coordinated work between the members of the group is also highly important. To simplify this aspect, the game includes a handy chat, both in text and voice, that you can use to discuss your actions with your teammates.
Each map is different, with unique landscape and lots of tactical opportunities. If you are one of the old fag shooter players, you might even recognize some of the familiar sceneries from Counter-Strike. However, they have been adapted to short online confrontations, so even if you remember that particular map well, that will be a totally new experience. There are plenty of other things to say about Standoff, but it’s better to play it once than read about it many times. So why don’t you plunge into your very first combat right now?
